After making last weekend's game more exciting than it needed to be, The Huskers travel to Champaign, Illinois this weekend to take on the Fighting Illini. Illinois, 3-1 this season, is coming off a close (27-25) win over Middle Tennessee last week. This is Nebraska's first Big 10 game of the year. The schedule gets more difficult starting with this game. Nebraska is currently a 7 point pick to win. Fullback Andy Janovich had a breakout performance last weekend, giving a lift to the Husker offense.. The defensive numbers need to improve this week after giving up 447 yards of passing to Southern Mississippi. Saturday's weather looks breezy(20 mph) with a 20% chance of rain and a high of 60 degrees.

Join other local Husker fans in cheering on Nebraska. We likely will have a raffle and the board with a chance of winning cash. The Third Base Staff will be there to serve up your favorite food and drinks with their great service.

This week's game has a very early start, but it will leave most of the day free after the game to enjoy your other weekend activities. Great comeback last weekend that fell just a little short. The Huskers are just a few points short of an undefeated record. It's a new system under Mike Riley and the players are still adjusting. Tommy Armstrong has shown tremendous improvement, ranking second in the Big 10. The Southern MIssissippi Golden Eagles are 2-1 so far this season, winning their last game 56-50 over Texas State. The Huskers are banged up and will need a good effort to win this game.

Come on out and participate in cheering on the Huskers. We likely will have a  raffle, the board with a chance of winning cash, and merchandise for sale. Great food, drinkks  and service will be available from the Third Base staff. Please remember to act responsibly, respecting the Great Husker Fan Tradition of the best sportsmanship in the nation.

The Huskers got back on track last weekend, beating the University of South Alabama, 48-9. The opponent this Saturday, the University of Miami, will be a much tougher test. The Hurricanes are scoring an average of 44 points per game while allowing only 10 points. They are 2-0 so far this season. Miami has played better defense than Nebraska so far this year and are close to Nebraska in offensive output. Miami has home field advantage this Saturday in what should be a good match up.

Join the group participating in our raffle, the board with a chance of winning cash, and merchandise for sale. Great food and service will be available from the Third Base staff. It is always great fun cheering on the team with your fellow Huskers.

Very tough loss last weekend. Nebraska did a good job coming back from 10 points down, only to lose it in the final second of play on a BYU Hail Mary pass. A chance for the young Huskers to grow from this teaching moment.

This week's opponent in Lincoln, South Alabama, won their first game over the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs, 33-23. The Jaguers have a veteran squad with all their returning players and the ones that transferred from UAB after their program shutdown. Nebraska has a few players out with injuries. The running game for Nebraska looked good with the greater emphasis in the second half. Nebraska is heavily favored in this game, and hopefully can serve as a tune up for next weeks game at Miami.

Come on out participate in our raffle, the board with a chance of winning cash, and merchandise for sale. The Third Base staff is looking forward to serving all your favorite food and drinks.

We continue to have an enthusiastic loyal group of attendees at the North location and invite everyone to join us.
