Reminder: Tom Osborne to Speak In Austin on Tuesday, April 12 #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

A reminder about the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Event next week at which Tom Osborne is speaking. I believe that tickets are still available. For more information and ordering tickets online, go to www.fcaaustin.org/night-of-champions.

The Austin/Central Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) 2016 Night of Champions is scheduled for Tuesday April 12th with former Nebraska Hall of Fame Coach, Tom Osborne, as the featured speaker.

This is sure an inspiring evening, with the opportunity to hear Coach Osborne's story of perseverance.

They will also have a testimony from a student athlete, the FCA Coach of the Year and some music.

This is the FCA's most important event of the year where they have a chance to "showcase" the ministry of FCA.

As I understand it, individual tickets are available for $150 each to attend this fund raising event. The event is at the Renaissance Hotel in the Arboretum in North Austin. Attendance may allow you to meet the Coach and have your picture taken with the Legend. If sufficient interest is expressed, a table of 10 can be reserved.

Please email Reagan Lambert, rl@fcaaustin.org with any questions.

Game Time:    8:15 PM

Date:     Saturday, December 26, 2015

It's Bowl Time for the Huskers. The Foster Farms Bowl has Nebraska vs UCLA in Santa Clara, CA. Everyone should have a lot of the injuries healed and time to prep for this game. The Huskers would like to finish on a high note going into 2016. Although the 8-4 Bruins have a better record than the 5-7 Huskers, they have not had the season they were looking for. Both teams feel they have something to prove in this game, so it should be a good match up.

Join us at either of our Watch sites: the Waller Creek Pub House or Third Base Northwest. Up north with enough attendance, we will have a raffle, plus the board with a chance of winning cash. We can help you with Husker merchandise the Third Base staff will be provide great service as always.

The University of Nebraska has been on a high this week, following the great National Championship win of the Lady Huskers over the Texas Longhorns in volleyball. Nebraska took the match in 3 straight sets, dominating the Longhorns witnessed by the largest crowd (17500+) ever to attend a volleyball game. Congratulations to the team taking their 4th National Crown. A lot of starters back next year, so look for another great season playing in the tough Big 10.

The next Husker Game? Next Fall. The Huskers begin the 2016 season with 3 home games: Fresno State, Wyoming, and Oregon before jumping into the Big 10 part of the schedule. We will be looking for a better Win/Loss record next year as the players should have the new system well ingrained.

Go to "myplates.com" for Husker logo'ed Texas license plates. A portion of your purchase benefits our group.

Thanks to all who have paid your dues. This and other purchases provide assistance to local students attending the University of Nebraska through our scholarship program, which we fund each year. Come on out and enjoy your holiday week at either of our watch sites. Family and friends in from Nebraska? Bring them along. Everyone is always welcome.

Huskers vs Longhorns Volleyball National Championship Final Watch Party #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

Huskers vs Longhorns Volleyball National Championship Final Watch Party  #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

Game Time:    6:30 PM

Date:     Saturday, December 19, 2015

It's not football, but it is the National Championship in Women's Volleyball. The Big Match is in Omaha with a likely 17,000 supportive Husker fans in the house. The Huskers led the nation in attendance this season, with all games sold out. Texas should be so lucky and have the space to accommodate that many fans.

The Nebraska team looked great last evening, beating Kansas in the semi-finals, 3 sets to 1. Seems like a good time to have a watch party, when you also consider the local interest in the Longhorn team. The Longhorns are good, going to the Final Four 7 of the last 8 years. They must have an abundance of talent as I noticed 2 of the Kansas starters last night were from Austin.

We've set up with our 2 Watch Sites, Third Base Northwest and The Waller Creek Pub House to put the game on for us. Many of us can't make it as Holiday plans were already in place, but we would still like to have you join other Husker fans in cheering on the Husker ladies. You won't be disappointed. The games are fast paced and rivetting. The Rolfzen twins, juniors Katie and Amber, know how to bring it. Fellow Papillion starter, sophomore Kelly Hunter, from the same High School is also at the top of her game. A great team, currently ranked #4, with the talent to beat a very good Longhorn group.

Come on out and enjoy the match along with your favorite food and beverages at either of our watch sites. Family and friends in from Nebraska? Bring them along. Everyone is always welcome. We apologize for the short notice on this, but the match was not set until the semi-finals were completed late last night.
