Nebraska begins Big 10 play this weekend, hosting the University of Illinois to Memorial Stadium. The Fighting Ilini are 3-1 in 2014 with their lone loss to the Washington Huskies. The Huskers had a strong showing last week, coming back on the Miami Hurricanes and dominating in the fourth quarter. The Huskers running game is really clicking this year, ranked 7th nationally and averaging 329 yards per game.
We appreciate everyone who showed up at Third Base Northwest last weekend. We had a fine crowd cheering on the Huskers. This is another late game for Nebraska this Saturday, which seems to be the theme for this season.

It may not be too late to join a group out of the Dallas area chapter, the North Texas Nebraskans, who are planning a trip to Chicago for the October 18th Northwestern game in Evanston. If you are interested, please contact Peter Marhoefer at peter.marhoefer@hilton.com.
We are looking for help at our Watch parties. We need fans willing to coordinate our activities at the South Park locations. It only takes a bit of effort during the Watch Party. This includes Sign In, Raffle, Board Sign Up, and maybe Half Time announcements when required. We take care of everything else (sending newsletters, maintaining email list, etc.). It is a great way to meet your fellow fans and get in a bit of practice at addressing a crowd. Your help would really be appreciated and you will have the thanks of your fellow fans. Up North we can use help to fill in for core members who may be traveling on some weekends. We all have busy lives in addition to our loyalty to the Husker Nation.
Next week's game (October 4) is at 7:00 pm as the Huskers play at #9 Michigan State. The following week is a bye week for Nebraska. We had hoped to have our annual picnic that weekend, but schedules of some core members will not allow. We plan to reschedule this for sometime next spring while the weather is still very pleasant.

To those of you who have paid your dues for 2014/1015 year, thanks. They are now due and are just $20 for the whole family for the year ($15 if your are an Nebraska Alumni Association member). This really helps us continue to host the watch parties and provide assistance to local students attending the University of Nebraska through our scholarship program.
