Location Go to the intersection of Parmer Lane and Mopac (Hwy1). Go West on Parmer about three blocks to the stop light. Make a left at the light and in a ½ block you will see the Cool River Cafe on your right.
As the Huskers return home this week to maintain the "Control Their Own Destiny Thing", they are playing Penn State, probably the toughest test left on the regular schedule. The Nittany Lions at 6-3 (4-1 Big Ten) are playing good ball. After a tough come from behind win over Michigan State last weekend, the Huskers are still working at reducing the errors. These tight, fourth quarter, double digit come from behind wins are getting hard on everybody. The results are great, but it would be nice to have a little more margin as we enter the final quarter. It is great however, at Cool River, when we get to celebrate that last minute(second) win.
Last weekend we raffled off a $55 gift certificate for "MyPlates.com" for use though this website for a Texas Husker - license plate. We will have additional raffles at each of the remaining regular season games. Come out and take a chance on this great prize. Purchasing Husker plates also provides our group financial support.
The Capital of Texas Nebraskans supports the University with a scholarship donation each year. Your attendance at the Watch parties, participation in the Board, raffles, merchandise purchase, and payment of your annual dues all help to make this possible. Remember, if you are considering joining the Nebraska Alumni association by the end of the Big 10 schedule, apply with a form available through our front desk and our groups receives a financial benefit when you join. By joining, you do get priority on football ticket purchases.
