HUSKERS VS TEXAS BASEBALL

Nebraska is playing Baseball vs the University of Texas in Austin at Disch-Falk Field, 1300 E. MLK Blvd., Austin TX 78702, on February 22, 23, 24, 2013.

The games are

Friday, February 22 at 7 pm
Saturday, February 23 at 1 pm
Sunday, February 24 at 12 noon

Your support at any or all games during this series is appreciated. We have picked the series wrap-up on Sunday as a game for the Capitol of Texas Nebraskans to gather in support of the Huskers. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at game time. We will plan on sitting together on the first base side in a general admission area.

This is a rare opportunity to catch the Husker Baseball team right here in town. Please join us and show your support for the Huskers at this Sunday game or any game you wish to attend.

This is the same location we used for the Big 10 Championship game.

It has been a while since we were able to cheer for the Huskers. We know that you have all been very busy with the holidays and just wanted to remind you of the Bowl game watch party. After this game, it will be a lot longer without Nebraska Football, so come out and join us to wrap up your holiday season with the Huskers.

Capitol One Bowl Ticket Information

Thanks to everyone for coming out for the Big 10 Championship Game. Too bad it didn't have a better outcome. Thanks also for the support all season.

Nebraska is playing Georgia in the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando, Florida on January 1. The following information is from the Nebraska Alumni Association.

In support of the Big Red, please purchase your bowl game tickets through the Nebraska Athletic Department vs. Stub Hub or Ticket master. The Athletic Department has a good allotment, so there are plenty to go around.

· You may do so by calling 1-800-8BIGRED or visiting www.huskers.com

· Your chapter may purchase a block of tickets through Athletics. If you are interested in doing so, please email me and I will walk you through the process.

· The NAA is offering trips to Orlando:

o We have full charter air leaving from Lincoln.
o We have land-only options (includes team hotel, game ticket, transfer to the game and pre-game Husker Huddle)

o Or new this year, we have a GAME DAY option, which includes transfer to the game, game ticket and pre-game Husker Huddle. This is a very good option for those who drive in day of or live in the area.

· The NAA will be hosting a Husker Huddle in partnership with Husker Athletic Fund before our bowl game. You may purchase tickets to the Huddle online beginning Wednesday.

Due to Holiday party bookings and late notice of our participation in the Big 10 Championship Game, Cool River cannot accommodate our group this Saturday. They assisted in arranging an alternate location, Sam's Boat at the Northwest Corner of Braker and Mopac(Loop 1), just behind the Shell Station and Burger King on the corner.

The Legends Champion Huskers have one more big step on their path to the Rose Bowl in a rematch with Leaders Champion Wisconsin for the Big 10 Championship. The previous meeting, won by the Huskers in a comeback, matches up two improved teams from that previous meeting. This should be a very exciting game and relief from last week's windy conditions as this game is in a dome. Look to see more of Rex Burkhead after his return to action last week. The Nebraska attack can certainly use his contribution.

Last week's strong win over Minnesota was a good warm up for Black Friday's game. The "Control Their Own Destiny" saga continues this week versus the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Let's see if the Huskers can continue to work on reducing the number of turnovers and errors. Last weekend they discovered they had a great short yardage game using the freshman running back Imani Cross. This is another step to Indy for the Big 10 Championship Game that leads to a Rose Bowl appearance.

We will once again raffle off a $55 gift certificate for "MyPlates.com" for use though this website for a Texas Husker - license plate. We will have additional raffles at each of the remaining regular season games. Come out and take a chance on this great prize. Purchasing Husker plates also provides our group financial support.

Considering joining the Nebraska Alumni association? Join by the end of the Big 10 schedule, apply with a form available through our front desk and our groups receives a financial benefit when you join. By joining, you do get priority on football ticket purchases.
