Week 4 watch party

Dear Husker Nation,

I know many of you still have the same bad taste from today's game. There is absolutely no excuse to loss a game at home with such embarrassing fashion. I hope the coaching staff can quickly react to the improvement needed and be sure honor the fan base and the state.

Despite of the frustration and disappointment we have, I want to say we are together for Nebraska. Win or loss, we are with our team. Over the years, our fans have been praised as the best fans in college football and there is no better time to show your support to our state and team. I encourage to come to either watch party location the coming week at 2:30 for the opening of the league play. 

If you have not pay your due yet, please find Terry at the north location watch party. She can help you set up.

Week 3 Watch Party #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

Dear Big Red fans,

Despite of the horrible first half performance, the defense showed some resilience to shutdown the ducks in the second half and gave offense the ball with couple mins on the clock. However, we can not expect to win the game when we gave away too many times. I hope this week the Big Red can improve quickly and get ready for league games.  

This week we should be back to the back of the bar where we typically are.

I know some of you concern about the seatings at Third Base. I will like to have some feedback and make decisions. The more feedback the easier to make decision. I have seen several emails from Big Red faithfuls on this issue and want to wait to see in the next a few games. I encourage you continue to come to the watch party and support our team.

Week two watch party update #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

Hi Huskers fans,

The game of the coming week is 3:30 and as you might have noticed that third base is also hosing Ohio State this year. Ohio's game is at 6:30 which probably have some overlap with our game. The manager at Third Base has placed us at the front area of third base and some tables in the back. Understand he has a tough job to do and Ohio has about twice our watch party shown last week. Lets see how things work out this week. I will closely observe if the seating or having another big group next to our group will impact the party or affect our members.

If there are too much inconvenient or it is causing you want to stay somewhere to watch the game, please feel free to voice it through email or talk to me at the party. You attendance is very important for the watch party and local chapter.  I will look for solutions, including changing watch party location, and keep our members happy.

Week one Nebraska Football Watch Party 2017 #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

Husker fans,

I am glad that football is back and happy to see many people at Third Base last night. I will work with the management of third base to have all ohio state stuffs covered up during our game. 

Though the defense gave up 500 yards to a SunBelt team, I see a lot good things on the offense side. New QB seems working well with the system and throw with good accuracy. Both ground and in air are good. The Big Red better gets things sort out quickly this week. Because we are facing a much tougher opponent. Oregon has a new coach and pile a lot of yards in week 1. We will see how our defense and special team really perform this week.

Nebraska Football Watch Party 2017 #Huskers #GBR #COTNgbr

Dear Husker Fans,

I can not believe that we made through the last eight months without football. We are counting down days to the kickoff of Huskers' first game of the 2017 season. I am very curious about the new 3-4 defense and looking forward to see if Huskers can make improvement on both sides of the ball.

As some of you might know, Wayne who has been hosting the watch party for long time is moving away before the season starts. I want to wish him the best and am very grateful for what he put in on every game day.

This year we are returning to the central and north locations for watch party. I, Alex, am going to help at the North location at third base. The central location typically has about 20 to 30 people every game which currently do not need a host. If we grow on the number, we can try find a host and add raffle and square game.

I am looking forward to seeing you at the watch party.

When Robert Potter (a Lincoln native) passed away last July, he left behind his five cats.  As his wife preceded him in death and there are no other living relatives, his cats have remained in his San Marcos home. 

A pet sitter visits once a day, but it's now time to step up efforts to find new permanent homes for these beloved pets.  I'm hoping that the COTN & Huskers of SA will circulate this flyer to the membership and that members of the Husker Nation will come forward to give these kitties new, loving homes.  I'm certain Mr. Potter would rest easy knowing that his beloved pets were in the care of fellow Nebraskans.
