It's Bowl Time for the Huskers. The Foster Farms Bowl has Nebraska vs UCLA in Santa Clara, CA. Everyone should have a lot of the injuries healed and time to prep for this game. The Huskers would like to finish on a high note going into 2016. Although the 8-4 Bruins have a better record than the 5-7 Huskers, they have not had the season they were looking for. Both teams feel they have something to prove in this game, so it should be a good match up.

The University of Nebraska has been on a high this week, following the great National Championship win of the Lady Huskers over the Texas Longhorns in volleyball. Nebraska took the match in 3 straight sets, dominating the Longhorns witnessed by the largest crowd (17500+) ever to attend a volleyball game. Congratulations to the team taking their 4th National Crown. A lot of starters back next year, so look for another great season playing in the tough Big 10.

It's not football, but it is the National Championship in Women's Volleyball. The Big Match is in Omaha with a likely 17,000 supportive Husker fans in the house.The Huskers led the nation in attendance this season, with all games sold out. Texas should be so lucky and have the space to accommodate that many fans.

The Nebraska team looked great last evening, beating Kansas in the semi-finals, 3 sets to 1. Seems like a good time to have a watch party, when you also consider the local interest in the Longhorn team. The Longhorns are good, going to the Final Four 7 of the last 8 years. They must have an abundance of talent as I noticed 2 of the Kansas starters last night were from Austin.

We've set up with our 2 Watch Sites, Third Base Northwest and The Waller Creek Pub House to put the game on for us. Many of us can't make it as Holiday plans were already in place, but we would still like to have you join other Husker fans in cheering on the Husker ladies. You won't be disappointed. The games are fast paced and rivetting. The Rolfzen twins, juniors Katie and Amber, know how to bring it. Fellow Papillion starter, sophomore Kelly Hunter, from the same High School is also at the top of her game. A great team, currently ranked #4, with the talent to beat a very good Longhorn group.

The Huskers quest for another National Championship in Volleyball continues tonight as Nebraska takes on the Kansas Jayhawks in the National semifinals in Omaha. This game will be available on ESPN2 at approximately 8:30 PM. Game start time can vary if the first semifinal game, Texas vs Minnesota, runs long. If the Huskers beat Kansas, they will play in the National Championship Saturday at 6:30 pm. The maturing Husker squad has been playing some great volleyball in this tournament. A win over Kansas, will set up either a match versus Big 10 Champion Minnesota or Big 12 Champion Texas. Either opponent will provide a great finals game. Tonight's other semifinal game, Texas vs Minnesota, will air on ESPN2 at 6 PM.

With the finals taking place in Omaha, the Huskers should have what feels like a home court advantage. Nebraska has been playing for this rare opportunity to play for the National Championship in their home state.

So Surprise, Surprise! The Huskers are going to a Bowl. This is a big deal, as they get 3 extra weeks of practice and it will help in recruiting. The game is the day after Christmas in Santa Clara, CA. Pretty much a home game for UCLA. The Bruins will likely be heavily favored, but Nebraska plays better when facing a good team.
