First of all, let me apologize for the error in last week's newsletter. I indicated the next game would be against Wisconsin. This was obviously incorrect. Working the last couple of weeks in rural Nebraska, I likely pulled up the incorrect schedule. 

Nebraska does face Purdue at home this Saturday at 2:30 pm. The Huskers will be looking to maintain their first place position in the Big 10 West and move their record to 8-1. Purdue is 3-5 this season. Nebraska must not look past this game, as every win is important during the remainder of the season.

We have some new Husker merchandise in, will be running our raffle and the board to add to the fun of watching Nebraska take on the Boilermakers.

Nebraska returns home this week to take on new Big 10 member Rutgers. Rutgers comes to Lincoln off a big loss to  #13 Ohio State last weekend. They are 5-2 for the season, but are 1-2 in the Big 10. The #16 Huskers big win at Northestern last week, keep them solidly in the race for the Big 10 West title.

Nebraska's next Big 10 opponent is Northwestern, playing their second road game in a row, this time at Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois. The Kickoff Time is 6:30pm. Since joining the Big 10, The Husker - Wildcat games have been very close, decided by a total of 7 points in 3 meetings. Northwestern is 3-3 this season and 2-1 in the Big 10 with the lone lose to Minnesota last weekend. They do have a win over Wisconsin under their belt, as they are in close competition with the Huskers for the Big 10 west title. Every game remaining is important for Nebraska in the race to the Big 10 Title game.

Remember to set your DVR's to record a Big Ten Network special presentation of "Unbeaten - The Life of Brook Berringer", immediately following the Nebraska, Northwestern game.

A reminder. Nebraska has a Bye this weekend, October 11. They are practicing and recuperating for the big game next week at Northwestern. This will be another tough match up in the Big 10 Schedule. This game, on October 18th, has a 6.30 pm Kickoff.

The subject of our last newsletter indicated Nebraska was playing Michigan this weekend. That should have read Michigan State. I also got the cities swapped. The game is in East Lancing, not Ann Arbor. My apologies.

All other references to Michigan State were correct. Thanks to those of you who caught this error.

Nebraska takes on Big 10 power house Michigan State Spartans this Saturday. The game will be played in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Spartie is 3-1 in 2014 with the lone loss to #3 Oregon. #10 Michigan State has a balanced attack averaging 50 points per game. This will be the 5-0 Husker's biggest test so far this season. Nebraska will their best effort on offense and defense to win this road game. Nebraska has an opportunity to control this game with their great ground attack, featuring Ameer Abdullah, who has had 3 200+ yard games so far this season. Let's hope Spartie will "FEAR AMEER", as the Husker band spelled out last weekend.

We will have our usual halftime raffle, the "Board", Husker merchandise available for your purchase, and great fun cheering on the Huskers with the rest of the Husker Nation.

It only takes a bit of effort during the Watch Party.  This includes Sign In, Raffle, Board Sign Up, and maybe Half Time announcements when required. We take care of everything else (sending newsletters, maintaining email list, obtaining Husker merchandise, etc.). Your help would really be appreciated and you will have the thanks of your fellow fans. Up North we can use help to fill in for core members who may be traveling on some weekends.
